ArtWorks Enterprises (AWE), a division of St. Louis ArtWorks, was launched after winning the 2006 Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition (SEIC) at Washington University Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. AWE brings in new revenues through the sale of replicable products produced as multiples designed by the apprentices.

The first venture is Boomerang Press, offering holiday and Community Art cards, as well as graphic services. The apprentices that work in the “Boomerang Gang” are apprentices with advanced skills and show a strong interest in learning the business of art.
